PRODUCT CARE

Polymer Clay is a relatively new medium. It does not fade and many people who cannot wear metal enjoy wearing polymer clay pieces.

Polymer clay is water resistant.

Clean polymer jewelry with gentle soap and water.  Polymer clay is chemically similar to pvc piping. Avoid chemicals that would breakdown pvc piping such as some essential oils, hairsprays ect.

Your piece has additionally been coated with a polyurethane odorless finish for maximum protection.

Take off jewelry before going to bed to preserve shape.

Polymer jewelry can be easily fixed by re-enforcing & baking any broken areas with polymer clay. Please contact Amazing Amanda if breakage occurs for custom repair instructions by contacting amazingamandajewelry@gmail.com or 970 217 8129.

For those sensitive to metals, consider using leather, fabric or ribbon as an alternative to the chain provided on your necklace. The jump hoops can be easily removed by hand so those sensitive to metals can wear Amazing Amanda pieces.

Polymer clay is flexible but not like fabric or leather. Please treat your piece as gently as you would soft metal jewelry. Please refrain from bending it unnecessarily to “test the limits”.  You may find that because polymer clay is a new, fun & interesting material, friends and family will want to bend, stretch and “play” with it. Please advise others to avoid bending & flexing your wearable art piece.

Use sandpaper for any rough edges. It works incredibly well to dull down any sharp or rough spots.

Avoid storing pieces in hot cars or directly in hot sun. Polymers become flexible when heated which can result in deformation of molded shape. Your jewelry will become more flexible with body heat which does not damage the piece. If the jewelry is stored somewhere very cold it may be less flexible and brittle.  Wearing the item will warm it and plasticity will return.

When storing items, store separately to avoid scratches or pressure from other items resting on or rubbing against your piece. Store bib necklaces propped up against a wall to best preserve cone molded shape. Molded polymers tend to flatten a bit if stored laying flat on a surface for extended periods of time.

Although polymer jewelry is considered to be non-toxic, Amazing Amanda does not recommend jewelry for children under 3 year old who may have a tenancy to suck on or chew items.
